Storytelling

  • Exhibition Dates: January 6 through February 19, 2023

  • Reception: Friday, January 6, 2023, from 12-8 PM

Once upon a time, humanity relied on visual imagery to tell stories. We continue to develop our various forms of communication and use many mediums to share our stories - pottery, song, dance, painting, photography, poetry, and more. Artists were invited to submit artwork that is their interpretation of storytelling. Whatever form the art may take, let it tell the viewer a story.

Storytelling features works of art by Andrew Hawkes, Barbara Ware, Carolyn Carpenter, Charlotte Tefft, Chris Pugh, Gary Gregory, Gene Avery North, James Kester, Janet Rosen, Kathleen Miller Thomas, Kevin Carr, Kimberly Hartzog, Laura Fogg, Lillian Rubie, Margot Frank, Melissa Eleftherion Carr, Olivia Consterdine, Robin Goldner, Sarah Reith, Shadowcat, Susan McClure, Susan Sweet, and Tim Hemlock.

The exhibition was on display during the months of January and February 2023.

Community Storytelling Project:

Community members were invited to write an answer to the prompt “What is your story?” by creating an anonymous piece of writing or a redacted poem to add to our community wall to share.
