Memento Mori

  • Exhibition Dates: October 7th - November 20th, 2022

  • Reception: Friday, October 7th, 2022, 12-8 PM

The Deep Valley Arts Collective invites you to an upcoming community art exhibition: Memento Mori at MEDIUM Art Gallery in Ukiah.

You are invited to attend the juried group exhibition “Memento Mori,” which in Latin means to “remember that you must die.” We asked for artists to explore the inevitability of death and its impact on all of us. During the pandemic, we had to let go of old ways of thinking and being in the world and learn how to adopt new ways of living. Death, in all its forms, can provide an opportunity to adapt, appreciate, honor and value the lives we are currently living.

Remembering that we all will die one day allows us to be more present in the world and our lives. Death reminds us that each moment of life is sacred.

Memento Mori features works of art by Alex MacGregor, Angel Garcia, Annie Ruygt, Charlotte Tefft, Christopher Dean Pugh, Derek DiOrio, Derek Ion, Elias Laughton, Gary Gregory, Gene North, Grace Petty-Fuller, Gwen E Hardage-Vergeer, James Kester, Jeff Goll, K.Gantzel, Kari Hartmann, Kellen A Kaiser, Kiersten Hanna, Kimberly Hartzog, Lesa Oswell, Lillian Rubie, Margie Cochran, Margo Frank, Marvin Schenck, Meredith Hudson, Salvador Andrade, Sarah Reith, Sarah Scott Falk, Sarah Workman, Shaundaera Pogorsky, Stefani Marte, Tamara Rose, Victor Palomino, and Volkhard Stuerzbecher.

The exhibition will be on display during the months of October and November.

Medium Art Gallery: 522 E. Perkins Street, Ukiah. Gallery hours are Fridays from 12-8 pm, Saturdays from 12-6 pm, and Sundays from 12-4 pm.
