We believe in the transformative power of making and experiencing art.

The Deep Valley Arts Collective’s mission is to create a culture that nurtures artists' development and while contributing to the well-being of our community through classes, critiques, workshops, lectures, and exhibitions.

Since opening MEDIUM Art Gallery in 2021, we have supported hundreds of local artists at our community-based exhibition space through our free juried art exhibitions and offering commission-free art sales.

    Dream it.

It began with a small group of friends meeting in a warehouse art studio in Ukiah a few years ago. The idea was simple — create an organization that would uplift and support artistic development while simultaneously adding to the well-being of our small arts community.

    Build it.

In the spring of 2021, an opportunity arose for us to use one of the retail spaces at the Pear Tree Center in Ukiah, and we decided to transform the former Radio Shack space into a community art gallery that operates without charging artists submission fees or commissions.

    Grow it.

Our vision doesn't end with the community art gallery. Ukiah needs a fully functioning art center, and we believe that we are the people who can make that happen. Our vision is simple: build upon what we have already created and turn it into a space that supports both the viewing of art and the creation of it.
